Erika F. Marie, the founder of Chiyu Center, offers exceptional acupuncture, reiki, and integrative medicine services. Chiyu Center has two established locations in Longmont, CO. Old Town North is a dedicated clinic space located within Erika’s private residence. Here, she provides private acupuncture and reiki treatments, pediatric care, and integrative medicine consultations. At Old Town North, acupuncture treatments are all-inclusive. This means you pay for time spent with Erika, not the individual services. Cupping, guasha, moxabustion, shiatsu, reiki, tuina, and other effective physical and energetic therapies are all available to you at no extra charge, depending on what you need and the duration of your appointment. The address for Old Town North is provided upon confirmation of appointment. (Group classes and community acupuncture are offered at Chiyu Center’s Main Street location.)
At Old Town North, New Patients may start with a 30-min Consult or a 90-min Consult + Acupuncture / Reiki Treatment. If you’re not sure, just call 720.593.1593 for a FREE 10-min phone consultation!
Erika Fayina Marie, MSOM, Dipl. Ac., LAc., Usui Reiki Master, and Founder of Chiyu Center
An IHA is Erika’s entirely unique and systematic way of examining your entire health picture from both East and West medical perspectives. After a 30-minute intake where you describe your health and submit a completed Comprehensive Health Questionnaire, Erika analyzes the causes, contributors, and connections between your symptoms and conditions. She creates a visual and verbal map explaining what’s gone wrong and how to fix it. Then she shares it with you during a follow-up 60-minute discussion. IHAs offer unequaled information, illumination, and insight into your health problem and how to solve it. They are absolutely necessary for patients with complex or mysterious symptom pictures.
60-minute treatments include all physical and energetic bodywork modalities. Typically, a 60-min appointment includes acupuncture on either the front or back of the body, and any of the following therapies: direct or indirect moxabustion, cupping, guasha, electro-acupuncture, shiatsu, tuina, and/or reiki. Erika sources her moxabustion from the highest-grade supplier in Japan. This means that it is purer (no added fillers) and has a more pleasing fragrance. Her cups, likewise, are not plastic but glass. Her electro-acupuncture stimulation machine has eight leads for intensive cellular regeneration. And you’ll probably float away on the soft, supportive table and warm towels.
90-minute treatments include acupuncture and any of the aforementioned therapies on one or both sides of the body. This longer treatment is for persons who need multiple time-intensive therapies (such as electro-acupuncture) or front-and-back treatments.
Acupuncture is scheduled separately from herbal, nutritional, and other consultations to allow maximum treatment time. If you would like to combine consultation and treatment, Erika recommends scheduling herbal or nutrition consults immediately prior to acupuncture, and qigong, meditation, & breathwork consultations afterwards.
As an experienced Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master and Teacher, Erika offers Reiki with nearly every acupuncture treatment. She also offers Reiki treatments as a stand-alone therapy.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal energy.” It is a very powerful healing modality on its own. When combined with acupuncture, it amplifies treatment. Reiki is not a religion nor is it associated with any religion. It is ethical and safe. Reiki is similar to other forms of hands-on healing in that it involves working with energy, or qi/ki, but Reiki is both safer and stronger. Instead of using their own energy, a Reiki practitioner connects with Source energy. The Source energy heals dysfunctional or broken energetic, emotional, and physical problems.
Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki is the most Traditional form of Reiki. Those who claim to be Usui Reiki Masters have invested considerable time and money in learning how to work with Reiki Source energy. Erika’s energy work has been described as “the real thing.” She is honored to offer this subtle, powerful, and highest form of healing to her patients and friends.
Laughter is the best medicine. But a close second is food. The truth is: if you are not eating right and/or not absorbing your food, every other medicine must work uphill to help you. Today, nearly everyone would feel and look better if they did some wise “tweaking” to their diet. If you have a life-threatening, systemic, auto-immune, or inflammatory condition, addressing what you put in your body is absolutely critical.
Erika orders nutritional and food immune reactivity lab tests to help determine how to change your diet. She will guide you every step of the way, suggesting recipes, providing support, and prescribing medical-professional grades of supplements.
Herbal medicine prescriptions involve analysis of root cause, past and present symptoms, and desired future direction of health. Whenever possible, Erika selects Chinese herbal formulas from Classical Pearls and Blue Dragon Herbs, as these elite manufacturers are third-party tested and have extremely high standards for purity. In addition, Erika selects wild-crafted and organic herbs whenever possible.
Erika’s trusted brand of homeopathic-spagyric medicine is of the highest caliber. The efficacy, purity, and safety of these medicines is truly unparalleled. Erika has successfully used homeopathic-spagryics to effect immediate and long-term relief of hard-to-treat conditions including insomnia, tachycardia, cardio-pulmonary syndrome, and hypothyroidism.
Isn’t it true how easily we overlook the most important things? Proper breathing, learning how to relax and do nothing (no, watching the TV doesn’t count!), and being able to move comfortably in our bodies is absolutely vital to the restoration of full health. Erika has years of experience in teaching others how to best align themselves for proper breath, circulation, and energy flow.
Individualized Qigong exercise instruction, one-on-one breathwork guidance, and assistance in learning how to create a restorative, meditative practice at home are all part of the whole-person healing package. Limited private instruction can also be given before or after classes.
